Whew!

Busy around here lately. Moving tends to do that, and while I'm not moving just yet I will be soon, in October. Lots of things to do before then of course, packing and other preparations.

I've been trying to motivate myself to do more art, especially continuing to study figure drawing / character design. I often get busy or distracted, or just don't feel like it, but I'm really going to try and step it up here when I have the time.

I often post my sketches to my blog, [link] , just because it's way faster than posting a sketch here. Once I get a packet of like 5 pieces I think I'll probably make a sketch dump here.

So I finally got to beat ChronoTrigger on DS. I somehow managed to miss it in the SNES era way back, but thankfully the DS version is every bit as awesome.

/random thoughts

The past 5 days have been rough, but it was very much worth it.

I managed to model and texture the ship, setup the asteroids/lights/camera ect, get the animation timing for the cuts, the video post, the audio, all that done. It all rendered off with little trouble, and things really came together to make it work how I hoped!

I think I've definately improved since my last attempt at painting a character.

Looking between my spess mehren there and my undead warlord, I feel there has been alot of progress made. I still can see alot of flaws, but I think that might be part of the point - I can see them now! Before, it just looked "wrong" and I had no clue why. Now I do, and can work to improve on that for the next image.

So yeah, I should probably update this more often.

Anyways, neat stuff, been improving with my sketch studies and such, however slowly. It feels like its coming together for me a bit more now though, so I am excited. I'll be posting up that stuff in a sketch dump here soon.

I also just snapped some really neat shots of direct sunlight passing through a glass of apple juice. I noticed it as I set my glass down and poured the juice just a few minutes ago - it fanned out into these awesome gold rings and wisps of white light. I thought that was pretty cool, so I grabbed a few shots - I'll post up a couple here. Perhaps some clever artists will find use for them, or someone will just get a kick out of it. I know I did.

That's all for now, but I'm going to try and be more active here + do more art. It's getting towards time I stopped studying and started just practicing by doing I think.
