Artist's Comments

This is a low poly game model I did of a corvette class strikecraft. It's armament consists of 2x25 anti-capital class missiles contained in armored pods, as well as 2x twin-barreled heavy plasma repeater cannons mounted on turrets to cover both the dorsal and ventral aspects of the craft. It is equiped with ablative armor plate, an internal ECM suite, and shield generator system, which is the 2 grey inset disks with glowy bits around them. Technical terms to be sure.

Done in 3D Studio Max, textures in photo shop.
1972 Polies total for the mesh, uses 1x1024 map for diffuse, spec, bump, and illumination

This is awesome! freaking love it.. I've only been working in CGI for about a year and I'm still learning myself.

I cant get over the panneling, is that seriously all done with bump/spec maps? or are they modelled seperately?

Yeah, thats all bump and spec man, I tend to spend alot of time on the panels when I texture spaceships, it can be abit excessive sometimes, haha

that can only be a good thing, its amazing work dude, very impressed. I'm still quite new to all this CGI jazz, gotta seriously work on the texturing >_<
