Yes it is true, I do still reside within the sphere of the living. Haven't posted here in a long time, mostly because I've been rather busy.

I took a lot of time in the past several months to really focus on improving my art techniques - specifically in 2D work. I really feel I've learned a lot, and my work has improved immensely.

Even more importantly, I really am having fun and enjoying doing art more than I ever have before. It's been really great to just sit down and draw or paint anything I wish, without any need to mentally prepare, boost my confidence, or anything like that first. Having the self confidence to know that it's ok if art isn't instantly perfect, and that if I just keep hammering away at it, I'll get it right eventually.

I actually think that is perhaps the most important thing I have gained in recent months.
